FAQs

Q. What is a multi-fuel stove?

A. Multi-fuel stoves are very similar to wood burning stoves in appearance and design. Multi fuel means the stove can burn seasoned wood as well as smokeless fuel, ie, Homefire and Union fuels.

Q. Will installing a multi-fuel stove be an investment for me?

A.  Installing a multi-fuel stove is a good value for money investment particularly with recent rises in energy prices.

Q. How efficient is a wood burning stove?

A.  Wood burning stoves have more than three times the efficiency of open fires. Modern stoves normally have a 80% or more efficiency rating, compared to open fires which only have up to 25%.

Q. How will the stove affect the environment?

A. Burning wood for heat is more environmentally friendly than other fossil fuels and is virtually carbon neutral. If you use wood from a sustainable source (which means a new tree is planted for every one that is felled) wood is a great way to heat your home and go green.

Q. Is my home suitable for a stove?

A. Many homes are suitable to have a stove installed, however an initial survey will determine if this is the right option for you.
